Marson Park is one of three neighborhood pocket parks that Cornerstone Studios successfully completed for the City of Los Angeles. They were funded by the Ana Bing Land Trust to establish outdoor play areas for under-served communities. The design of Marson Park incorporated the local culture of the communities, fulfilled the required programs from the City, and responded to the constraints of the site. Residents of the community treasure this park. They have developed pride of ownership and established a committee to oversee the maintenance of the park.
Sustainability was designed into the park. We used native and drought tolerant plants, decomposed granite walkways and recycled materials. We grouped plants together with similar water requirements and installed moisture sensors in the irrigation system to avoid runoff.
