Century Boulevard

This project involves Century Boulevard, a major arterial route running north-south in the city of Inglewood, between Felton Avenue and Van Ness Avenue. The street and sidewalk conditions are both deteriorated and in need of realignments/reconfigurations to accommodate future traffic and circulation demands. Also since the street borders one side of Hollywood Park Development and provides access to the main entrance, the street improvements need to be implemented immediately.

Cornerstone Studios provided the landscape design for raised medians as well as the parkways with ADA accessible sidewalks.  We also provided design to enhance intersection treatment and median hardscape.  Our goal was to create a strong sense of place to this stretch of Century Boulevard by using drought tolerant & low maintenance plants while providing color and texture interests year round.  We also designed our landscape and irrigation to be compliant with AB 1881 Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. Our ability to create and present photo-realistic 3d renderings to demonstrate drastic improvement between the existing and the proposed conditions helped to convey our design ideas effectively to the Council.
