Lakewood Boulevard

The new medians and parkways along this 1.75-mile length of Lakewood Boulevard from Gardendale Avenue to Firestone Boulevard were a result of a street widening. The new landscape enhances the shopping centers, residences, offices, and retail establishments that run along both sides of the boulevard. With the numerous retail centers and the convenient freeway access, this section of Lakewood Boulevard has become a prominent area of the City. Cornerstone Studios worked closely with the civil engineer and the City to identify a landscape scheme that provided identity and added aesthetic appeal. Improvements included a masonry sound wall along the residential areas, sidewalk paving, traffic and pedestrian lighting, planting, and a new irrigation system using reclaimed water.
