Vermont Avenue Median Phase 1 2007

This segment of Vermont Avenue travels through areas with strip malls, low-rise offices, and residential areas. The challenge of this project was to impart a design along the 1.5 miles of median that added visual impact and complemented the surrounding areas. While spacing the trees, we took into consideration the location of the street signs so as not to block the driver’s line of sight. Given the fact that maintenance will not be abundant, the hardscape and planting designs are strong enough to stand on their own with little attention. Our scope included planting and irrigation designs, construction documents, cost estimates and specifications, all in compliance with Los Angeles County standards.
