Tahquitz High School
Cornerstone Studios was responsible for the preparation of conceptual and final design as well as construction documents for landscape site development of a 34-acre high school campus including a 4000-seat football stadium, baseball and softball fields, building courtyards, tennis courts, swimming pool complex, parking areas and stormwater retention basin. The landscape features the use of native and drought tolerant plant materials. The sportsfields were sodded with ‘Tifgreen’ hybrid Bermuda variety #328 to provide a durable playing surface and minimize water consumption. All the turf sportsfields are irrigated by use of reclaimed water. The football stadium field is a synthetic turf which can be “cooled down” during hot weather by an irrigation system using potable water. The entire irrigation system meets the stringent requirements for reclaimed and potable water use established by the Eastern Municipal Water District.
