Gateway 2000

This mixed-use development includes one and two-story retail space that will be moving into this area along Del Amo Boulevard between Main Street and the San Diego Freeway. In anticipation of this, the city of Carson Redevelopment Agency commissioned the team of EEK Architects and Cornerstone Studios to create a more aesthetically pleasing pedestrian friendly environment along Del Amo Boulevard. To this end, the team has created primary intersection treatment, widened the sidewalks, and landscaped the parkway and median.

The focus of the intersection treatment was to provide friendly pedestrian access to and from the retail nodes to the surrounding areas and to provide special paving, landscape and water features that characterize these intersections.
