fire station at West Plummer Street in the community of Panorama City

This is a replacement fire station at West Plummer Street in the community of Panorama City as the existing Los Angeles Fire Station No. 7 could not house the additional resource needs to meet present and future demands for fire protection services.

The rectilinear layout of concrete banding within the planting beds and the geometric layout of planting design complement the architecture and provide an attractive setting for visitors as well as the fire station personnel.The landscape plant palette for the project consists of a variety of succulents and drought tolerant plants to meet the mandated water budget. Different color and texture plants ranging from bright green, blue green to red highlight the ground plane patterns making them a visible part of the composition. Specimen plants such as the agaves are located within decomposed granite bands giving them a special place in the overall design.
