Eastern Avenure Hill Complex

Cornerstone Studios developed a primary plant palette for this project consisting of tall native and drought tolerant trees, shrubs, grasses, wildflowers, and groundcovers to provide visual relief for the surrounding community as well as the motorists traveling along the 710 Freeway. The scope of work included the south, east, and north slopes. Besides lowering water use, our irrigation design also encourages the deep rooting of the plants for erosion control. We incorporated outdoor sculpture on the south slope to enhance the setting and provide community identity. Photo simulations were used to convey a mature planting for each slope in order to gain approval of the project. We also prepared a 12-month plant establishment and a 3-year monitoring and maintenance program for the County to ensure long term success of these plants.
